5/24, Friday. First day of the Northwest Folklife Festival, a free (by donation) music event at Seattle Center.
Went to KEXP for an education chat regarding how to promote your art work, with a panel of 3 very young female artists in the late afternoon.
Afterwards, I walked around Seattle Center checking out what's available now.
Saw these 2 interesting musicians.
This guy on the right plucking a bucket, in a band.
This young man on the left playing a bunch of unusual instruments:
a Hang,
a very long horn, and a long wooden tube that creates a falling sand sound whenever he turns it.
He sat on a drum which he taps or his foot paddles a hammer onto it.
He has a QR code for you to donate to his Venmo account.
3 dancing venue. Some people dressed for the occassion.
Fisher Pavilion has the most people dancing, kinda of line dance.
Alki Court is outdoors. Armory has the least dancers.
A lot of vendors selling their own art works. I like those cartoon cards and paintings.
An earthware maker using natural leaf prints (pretty, but heavy).
Too many items on the schedule, impossible to see it all.
Of course, many food carts too.
