The founder and host of Alternative Radio, David Barsamian spoke today at Elliott Bay Bookstore and other venus this weekend to celebrate AR's 25th birthday. It is through AR that I became aware of Arundhati Roy, Howard Zinn and others. Barsamian is very energetic, well versed and passionate about the social injustice. Today he spoke about how US propaganda shapes its audience and masks crimes.
I'm a bit disheartened at the small turn out. Maybe only a dozen showed up. Two hours later, a talk on the old Seattle baseball team, Rainiers, was full house. I was there by mistake: thought it was about the beer :(
