Mt. Forgotten Meadow & Perry Creek
2005.6.19 some clouds, high in the lower 20C's.

Direction: 15.2 miles E of Verlot. 1 mile N on gravel Perry Creek Rd #4063.

Level: 12 km r/t, 1km gain.

First 1.5 miles are mostly open, in a valley with lush ferns, alders and
many berry bushes. Quite a few waterfalls trickle down on both side.
It's greeeeeeeeeeeen (almost luminous).
Lots of columbine, buttercup, siberian miner's lettuce. Some penstemon,
rose. Lupine just started. Bleeding hearts are almost gone, so are salmon berry blossoms.

After the bigger (and closer) falls at mile 1.9, where you can find a big flat rock to sit on, the trail traverses the creek and continued more rigorously up, zigzagging in the forest.

At the meadow (no flowers yet), one can see Mt Baker to the north,

and Big Four, Mt Dickermon and Mt Pugh to the south.

Mosquitoes are out!
